MRS BARNSHAW’S WRITING AWARD TEA PARTY

Over the last three weeks I have been joined by the following children for my Writing Tea Parties. If your child has been selected for the award, you will receive a copy of their piece of writing and the certificate. Please talk about the writing with your child and of course praise them for their hard work. Thank you children, I am very impressed with your work! Best wishes from Mrs Barnshaw.

  • Children MUST dismount at the school gates. Bikes must NOT be ridden inside the school grounds.
  • Bikes must be parked in the bike racks.

YEAR 4 EVERDON RESIDENTIAL TRIP

The Year 4 children had a fabulous trip to Everdon the week before last and those who stayed in school took part in some exciting activities too. Please look on the Y4 Class Dojo for more information and photos of all that happened. The children loved their visit, as did the staff who accompanied them.

They can be very proud with the way they took part in all the activities and experiences and with their behaviour. Fabulous! Y4 parents and carers should have had an invitation for 23rd May to enjoy sharing the children’s photos and experiences from Everdon and from in-school activities.

Please meet at The Boat at 2.15. The presentation afternoon will end at 3.15.

CLASS PHOTOS - ADVANCED WARNING.

WHOLE CLASS PHOTOS WILL BE TAKEN ON WEDNESDAY 17TH MAY.

ORDERING UNIFORM ONLINE

Online ordering and payment for uniform can now be accessed through Parentmail. We hope that this will be a useful addition to our online services.

VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTIONS TOWARDS TRIPS AND EXPERIENCES

During the course of each school year, the school plans in several trips, visitors to class and other experiences in order to enhance the children’s learning and enjoyment. In order to fund these events we have always sought voluntary contributions from parents and carers. Where some of these experiences were underfunded in the past, we were able to use our existing budget to enable them to still go ahead.

Unfortunately, like many other schools, our current budget allocation does not enable us to do this. Therefore, any future trips or experiences that are not fully supported by parental contributions will be cancelled. We have always been lucky and parents have been very supportive of the trips the school arranges but other experiences, such as visits from an animal expert or historical experts, have not been so well supported.

Please help us to ensure that the children do benefit from these wonderful learning experiences by contributing towards the costs. We do not wish to cancel future events but will need to do so where we cannot cover the costs. Thank you for your understanding and continuing support.

The weather is supposed to be more summer like this weekend so here’s hoping it is! The swifts have finally arrived which means that summer really is here! Please watch the skies for their distinctive scythe shapes and listen out for their characteristic screaming calls. Happy swift spotting! Have a lovely, summery weekend everyone. With best wishes to you all from everyone at Hunsbury Park.
