MRS BARNSHAW’S WRITING AWARD TEA PARTY

Over the last three weeks I have been joined (or will be next term) by the following children for my Writing Tea Parties. If your child has been selected for the award, you will receive a copy of their piece of writing and the certificate. Please talk about the writing with your child and of course praise them for their hard work. Thank you children, I am very impressed with your work! Best wishes from Mrs Barnshaw.

SPORTING REPORTS

sportsYEAR 5 AND 6 GIRLS TAG RUGBY 23.5.17

Nine girls from Years 5 and 6 took part in a Tag Rugby festival at Boothville Primary School. In beautiful sunshine, the children had a great time playing five matches against other schools from the county. Although we didn’t win any of the games, the girls scored numerous tries and their skills improved with each match.

Well done to: Kara, Daniella, Katie-Jo, Myla, Akasha, Gabia, Chizara, Baylee and Phoebe.

YEAR 5 AND 6 QUADKIDS ATHLETICS 24.5.17

The weather was also glorious for the 10 children who took part in the Quadkids Athletics at Moulton College Athletics Track. The children competed brilliantly in the 6oom, 75m sprint, vortex howler throw and relay races. A good time was had by all and there was a fantastic spirit between all the competing schools.

Well done to: Myla, Preston, Reece, Kara, Adrian, Mohammed, Charlie, Cori-Lea, Mina and Katie-Jo.

PAYMENTS – A HUGE THANK YOU

The office staff have been really grateful to the many people who have put all the different monies for trips, film night etc in named envelopes with the right totals. This has helped them save considerable time. If you do bring money to the office, it is important that you bring the correct amount as the school now has limited change. Guidance from the School’s Finance Team require schools to handle money as little as possible. Please remember that you can pay online for dinners, uniform, music lessons and very soon school trips will be payable online too.

LATENESS AND TIME OFF IN TERM TIME

bellYou may have noticed Mrs Barnshaw outside the front gate with the school bell earlier on this week. The bell is to warn you that it is almost 9.00 and that school is about to start. We are having far too many children coming into school late. Please make sure that your child is always in on time. Thank you.

Please remember that holidays taken in term time are not allowed. We are required to inform the Local Authority of all unauthorised absences. Any unauthorised holidays of 5 days or more must be reported and parents could be fined £60 per parent per child by the Local Authority.

PENNIES FOR INDIA – THANK YOU FROM MRS HUGHES

PenniesThank you everyone for your kind donations towards our charity appeal ‘PENNIES FOR INDIA’. Monies raised support an orphanage and school in India under the heading CHILDREN UNITED (look at this website for further details).

OUTDOOR LEARNING DAY

The children (and staff) have enjoyed a lovely sunny day of outdoor learning today. Please talk to your children about it and find out what they did and enjoyed and what they learned today. Please look on Class Dojo for photos.

And Finally...

Please remember that Term 5 finishes this afternoon and school will be closed for a week. During this break, we wish you and your children a very enjoyable, warm and sunny week. As always we hope the children will have a very happy break from school and a good rest. They have worked extremely hard and have a long and possibly very hot term ahead to face on their return to school. It is important they come back refreshed and raring to go again! Please support them, as you always do, with any class projects or homework they have been tasked with. Class Dojo is the place to look in case anyone has forgotten what they need to do. Enjoy sharing some lovely summer stories with your child too! Staff will continue to post news and ideas on Class Dojo so please do check this regularly. Have a great bank holiday weekend everyone!

With best wishes to you all from everyone at Hunsbury Park.
