At Hunsbury Park Primary School, we believe we are a fully inclusive school of all children, particularly with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We have the responsibility to ensure that children with special educational needs have the maximum opportunity to attain and make progress in line with their peers.
Here at Hunsbury Park, we have a large inclusion team, made up of our full time SENDCo Mrs Charlie Vickers who works closely with the family support lead, Mrs Claire Riley, learning mentor Ms Pam Fennell and learning support assistants who support children with SEND across the school.
The SENDCo will work closely with class staff and parents to ensure the early identification of children with additional needs. Then, if required, additional support will be put into place to ensure the child is able to make the best progress possible.
Alongside our support for SEND children, we have a resource provision for children with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH). These children are supported within the mainstream classroom along with our inclusive and nurturing environment throughout the school.
